And, as such, with FBG, at a min, you should have your local 1 year's salary (if not 25years) in RP's, if/when they ever reach $1. For instance, Half of the US makes $30K or less, so that would be 30,000 RP. At current MV of $0.0023 that means if I were to leave, in the hope that RP rise, even if all goes wrong, I will only have lost $69. I'm sure that isn't all that much to not spend on movie tickets/restaurant/clubbing in a year (or more). Which is why I suggest that as a min. However, the idea of 25 full years worth, while a bit more of a budget crunch, would help boost anyone's retirement lack of funds. $1,725 (750K RP) is not too much, esp across years, to eventually, potentially, not have a care during your retirement years. Granted the USD doesn't go as far as it used to 25 years ago, nor will it in the future, most likely. All the more reason to keep some eggs in the form of RP in the FBG Basket. Besides, eventually, $1 could easily seem dirt cheap. These are only based on US yearly avg income, so do the math for your location, or heck, if you want to consider retiring somewhere even cheaper (which is USD wise quite easy for the US), you can do so more aligned there. Bottomline, I really don't think it is wise to fully abandon the RP eggs. Besides, when you come back, your dollar won't go as far and thus your retirement fund will need the RP to rise even higher. Make no mistake, we will need buyers at all levels and sellers even higher than us very long term holders. I just hope that most of it comes from newbies to the whole community and members who make disposable income and thus can keep buying and didn't have the excess funds back when it was cheaper (or used what they had and are going from 1mil to 1mil 100K etc). jpla1991 Traffic Value: $773.5176 Portugal 2 like this post 0 people 30/01/2017 21:20 But to make such plans, one has to have some faith that RPs will ever reach 1$. I don't believe this will happen, but it's the mantra of "Don't invest what you can't afford to lose". Besides, $1+ is the "dream", you don't have to be faithful/trust that it will reach $1 ever, even 1c, could mean the difference btwn rice and beans vs noodles and chicken, at least on occasion (aka cheapest food possible vs a slightly more varied and less strictly economical in food choices). The RP will go up, eventually, even if it is only a little, and has a hard time vs inflation, b4 you need it. I speak of the possibilities to illustrate just how little it could cost you now to live a very satisfying retirement. BTW, if you are already considering leaving, I'm not asking you to invest more, I just want anyone who leaves, to leave a reasonable amount of RP unsold, as one of the eggs in one of the baskets. You can and should come back and buy RP when they are 1c and 10c etc, but leaving the "avg, I hope" cost of 1 fancy night out for 2, for the mere potential of what one less night out could bring you in your future is a small sacrifice. As well as 25 of those nights, esp if you spread the loss now over a few years. It's all about weighing the small extra enjoyment now vs the potential in the future. I advocate for potential, and it's not like the now is not that much less noticeably enjoyable. Besides, "Netflix and chill", "Game Night", or Picnic Dates etc are not enjoyable experiences, many would argue they are more so. All of this applies to everyone leaving in general, but also to newcomers. The Member Share of 500mil RP (max 300mil) is really not that much. The more we gain, the less there are on the market at these low prices, and naturally, the price will rise.
