I have been adapting my trades based on the direction I expected bitcoin to take (which looked like it would dump) but then it reversed. Then I changed my tactic to anticipate a bitcoin pump and then it got canceled out today. Meanwhile some of my great alt setups now left the station without me, while alts that I held came down. It has been a few hard trading days, but I did learn a few lessons from it. During the last couple of months I saw growth and fall in alts, while at the same time btc went in the opposite direction. However, it was also normal to see the whole market goes up or down simultaniously - both alts and btc. Basically, everything that could've happened already happened so I really don't know how can anyone learn a lesson here, except that you need to buy coins that look promising and get the hell out of the market! I had some very good decisions, which were ruined by some very bad moves so it seems to me that it's just not worth trying to fight this insane and illogical market, but just buy when there is a dump and hold until it goes up. OR, when a rise reaches a new low? ESP if you aren't looking daily, like you advised against. Like I keep saying, I can't even predict MTV's RP when a dump is dump vs regular or a rise is real. I follow markets every day and whenever I see some article about undervalued coins I try to get additional info whether to invest in it or not. Of course you can't be 100% sure when the dump will happen or how deep it will be, but it happens on regular basis, you can clearly see that on some long-term charts. The problem is that some coins seem to be resistant to market crashes and then crash without the obvious reason. The point is to invest into something with potential value as early as possible and to "forget" about it for a year. That would be wise and that way you will multiply your investment almost for sure. If you see that the coin you were looking at went up too fast before you bought it, wait for a dump, from that coin only or next market crash in general, it will happen sooner or later. Or just forget about that coin (like I did with verge) and move on to the next one. You can have as many strategies for day trading as you want, but I believe that nothing will give you bigger return than when you get in early and hold. You just have to find the right investment and double-check it before you actually do it.
