I've got 7 long term bags as of now, of which 2 I am in big time.

From biggest to smallest bag:

EQT
KMD
XEL
LBC
UBQ
SYS
TRST

Komodo and EQT are the ones I expect to do amazing.
Komodo can easily become a top 10 coin, $15b+ marketcap at the end of 2018.
If you want we can bet for a bottle of whiskey LOL

Yes, my friend made an amazing return as well and I happen to know plenty of others bought it as well but I don't know how successful they were.

I am glad to hear it worked out for you man!
It's about time to either fully get out or sell 80%.
I am not saying it's the absolute top, but you don't need to sell the top to be profitable and there are much safer options out there now! Be smart!

@Klemen, most are tradble on bittrex as well. EQT is not, that's only on smaller exchanges like cryptopia.

I bought som XVG as well a long time ago. Sadly I sold before it took off, just broke even on it tongue

I only found KMD, not the other coins (XEL, LBC, UBQ, SYS, TRST).
But KMD is only on BTC market. So if BTC doesn't hold its value, it doesn't matter how much KMD rises.

For example: for $1000 you get 0.059 BTC and 77.83 KMD (1 KMD = 0.000758 BTC).
If KMD rises for 100% you will have 0.1180 BTC (1 KMD = 0.001516 BTC).
But if BTC bubble pops in the meantime, you will not earn anything in USD terms. You will have more BTC, but they will be worth less.

Or am I missing something?

Good Morning. I'm quite neophyte in this field of cryptocurrencies, but I would like to be able to make a small investment, following your advice. Where can you buy equitrader (EQT)?

Not sure about the other coins. It's possible they're listed under a different ticker but I wouldn't know, don't follow it that hard.

Your calculation is off imo. You can buy BTC for USD in your btc wallet (probably) and send those coins to the exchange. Buy KMD and register the current price in USD according to the BTC price. Then later on, you can just sell for BTC and sell those BTC for USD in your wallet again.

I know, if BTC rises more than the coin, you seem to have lost value. But now you're comparing investing in BTC with investing in an alt, while you otherwise would've held USD (that's how I interpret the situation you describe, where you buy in USD and would be happy with any gain in USD, but not with a gain in USD while the BTC denomination of your investment dropped). Not sure if you see the point I'm trying to make, might be explained to complicated tongue

EDIT: after your edit it seems you miss something. The BTC price is tied to the USD price by the arbitrage possible between the currencies. If people value KMD more, they'll make the USD price higher. If BTC drops, the coin will rise even harder in its BTC denomination.

All the coins are available in bittrex except for eqt.
But please, don't blindly follow, do your own research and keep an eye on it as long as you hold it.
I did give some signals the past few days to mtv team members and.. they did quite well to say the least wink (Have a look at KMD, xel, sys, lbc..)

I started with cryptopia as my partner told me. My investment, it's going to be little Marc. Do not worry. I only invest what I can afford to lose, and this world is unknown to me so I am not going to throw myself into the water without a pool. I will be attentive to this threadwink

Hahah. Just went to take a look at KMD, I bought at 14k and sold at loss long ago. I guess I was drunk ;-;.

Btw, it doubled since yesterday, lol

I have a problem with finding the right price to enter in coins, sometimes I got in too early and most of the time I expect it to drop more, don't buy and just watch the coin going x2. Any tips Marc or any other experienced traders?

There is no magical answer.
You have to learn how to use stoch, rsi, identify and draw patterns, keep an eye on volume, study the candles, keep an eye on the fundamentals/news..

If you're a trader, it eats up a lot of time.
As an investor, you will likely do fairly well over time, but you shouldn't expect a perfect entry as the market is illogical most of the time, especially in crypto.

Very well written Marc.

@carvalho17

Also you have to learn how to use technical analysis (besides single indicators) and look for divergence signals.
They often indicate major changes in trend, but make sure these signals are true (and not false) by looking at other factors too.
Don't do early moves, you may lose some of the profit, but you will have a much better probability to make profitable trades.

I don't consider myself as an experienced trader in cryptos, but i did a lot in the stock market in the past.

OFC, I understand not to spend what you can't afford to lose.

Would spending $10 on ANY/ALL coin, and then just holding until MTV's RP price allows me to retire, be a solid enough strategy?

TBH, while I know ppl can become well off/rich by learning and trading as a second/only job of all these alts, it's just something I can't wrap my head around enough. I can't even buy/trade MTV RP correctly enough.

I guess that's probably an ok strategy. Though maybe with some tweaks, like there is probably many scammers out there (worse than HYIP, in fact, right?). So, don't buy blindly too early on a new coin (3months enough/too much?). Look at the weekly trends of the coin in mind, to see if it's on a forever downward spiral...and then either wait until they are dirt cheap for weeks (enough time for the owners to officially bail/scam). Other advice?

I'm thinking the eggs in many baskets and let them become chickens or let them never hatch/die too early strategy is probably fine. If you buy $10 and it becomes $100, that pays you back for the other $10 that were fails. And, you may hit it big and it becmoes HUGE like BTC or even $1000. And, even say 50 coins is $500, which isn't too much of a loss, if every last one goes bellyup.

Probably the more important thing is to make sure that where I store the coins is not hackable. Are offline wallets for all alts a thing? Do they store them in the alt demoonation, rather than USD? What happens if my computer dies/needs to be reset?
