Talking of the upgrade idea from earlier in this thread; there are 4900+ ads in the Day+1 cron right now. 4400 or so of those are the 1% ads, which would be issued to upgraded users.Most are the small ones; so it's quite a lot of ads! If you're the only person upgraded to "mini" ; your account will be utterly flooded! .. Even 10 upgrades; 400 or so ads each, all $0.01+ And that's pretty good for MTV; 20-50 mini upgrades a week = $36-90/week... up to $4680/year... Add to that 2-5 big upgrades per week; and that's another $4500+ per year. So thats 8-10k a year right now. If we double in size; then that should double also; 16-20k. Increase 10fold... and 80-100k per year. Easy money!

But what will happen with those users who are regularly purchasing ads but maybe won't be interested in upgrades?Will they get ads like normal (depending on their BAP), or maybe they will get less ads and earnings because of this upgrades and ads issued to those users with upgrades? Will anything change for normal users in terms of which ads they will get and how fast they will get their returns?

The only thing that changes is they won't get the random ads that are issued at the end of the server day.They'll still get their daily ad issue + the bulk little ads we issue to all users daily.

I'm still thinking about that one.This upgrade idea came out of the star ads idea... but actually I think it works better as a stand alone upgrade. But the Star Ads concept I think has big potential; it could really explode PaidVerts; as it gives people a reason to invest big & earn really fast... But we need to make the numbers add up & be sustainable. Tricky!

I counted $822 worth of ad purchases above $50 for the first half of the server day today. That would be $82.20 worth of 1% ads distributed among users with the bigger upgrade. If each full day that week had at least $1430 worth of $50+ ad purchases on average, that would be at least $1000 worth of ads distributed among bigger upgrade users that week. If only 2 users bought the upgrade they would each get at least $500 worth of ads, if 5 users bought the upgrade they would each get at least $200 worth. All considering that each user has enough BAP to get that much.

What if 15 people will buy the upgrade? That would mean they will receive $66 worth of ads. That is a lot less than I am receiving now.

Patrick, but those would be just extra earnings on top of those you have now. Sure you sometimes get lucky with a big random 1% ad, but probably on average everyone receives 5-10$ worth of those per week, at max.

Yes exactly. This upgrade only means that the 1% ads ( 10% of each campaign purchase creates 10 1% ads), that are sent out randomly at the beginning of server day. And any such ads bigger than 0.49$ would be sent to people with the upgrade, instead of randomly to anyone with capacity.Edit.: And I way overreacted with the average of 1% ads everyone receives. It's more like 0.5$ total average/week, so this upgrade would take very little from the normal user, but possibly give A LOT to upgraded ones.

Correct. These are in addition to the daily ad issue.They are the 1% ads that get sent out at the beginning of a new server day. Currently issued at random to any one of ~7000 users... By purchasing the upgrade; they will instead be distributed all to you (or just between the upgraded users for that week). Thereby, you'll get a lot of ads! And a lot of value. The only danger is that too many people upgrade. And dilute the ads too much, then it might not be worth it. But if too many people upgrade; thats great for MTV; as lots of revenues!

That's a calculated risk you'll have to take. Based on our current number of daily ad sales, plus how many people are currently upgraded -- both bits of information you have access to.It's definitely worth it for one person to upgrade; as they'll receive 4000+ ads a day... but if 1000 people upgrade; maybe not! But $1000 worth of ad sales in a day would create $100 worth of ads for this upgrade. $10k = $1000 worth of ads. So potentially a lot of money!
