Many places I have never heard of or don't even know where they are. If I get to where I can make enough cash I want to move your way. I prefer it there more natural wild then it is here. I grew up in Maine so I love the country this to me is way to many people, yet I still live in the country. I'm also in NC ... but a bit west of Charlotte, in the foothills ... the beginnings of western NC. It would be kind of neat to meet with near-by members once in a while in person to discuss various tips, tricks, etc of PV/MTV that sometimes you just can't do online. Around here everyone knows what you are doing. I swear when I carry groceries in the house everyone is watching they all come outside and stare. I am not in the mountains themselves where one can "get lost" from civilization. I'm more in the "suburbs" of the suburbs (ie, Hickory). And have lived in Phoenix, Las Vegas, Dublin ... coming here was a bit of a culture shock (and still is in many ways after 14 years). We had the police out here Monday a man went strange, and was ranting and raving then started in shooting right next to my fence. My 13 year old was 5 feet away from him. Police even said he was crazy and told him to go to bed, and next time quit shooting that close to my property. Was told it was a nice community in the first week I found out it wasn't so nice. The craziest thing that has happened is a lady came through my gate one day and told me I can't sit on my porch or pull weeds in my yard. Lack of financial resources is one of two of my biggest problems. But if I buy 10 bags full of food it's my business not the neighbors lol. I don't think I am going to make a million dollars here in a few weeks but every little bit adds up to more and more. Between this site, and what I make in selling our hens fertile eggs. I should be able to get things caught up and have some extra spending cash this year. Yeah it gets kind of strange around here, there are days when I stand in the middle of my kitchen floor and say I would give up all of this to be back in Maine living off the land again. Never locked a door when we lived up there.
