@killa-007
Or maybe make it 90/10% profit distribution permanently. Sure everyone would like to have steady revenues for a long time, and it would boost MTV just after the launch.

that could work too, though it make take some time to get money back and it would be harder to code, probably possible on new platform, but that my idea woudnt need that much coding, js slit all revenues to mebers at end of the month till they reach that money back.

Or pay users the same they invested the way you said @killa-007 and later give them a few percent of profits.

Decided to reply to various questions amongst the posts:

"How about the Lingua project? Or the google ads alternative? The cash Poker? Promoting more the exchanger and the casinos?"

SubLingua topic we hope to properly touch sometime next week in our meetings. GA alternative would be a huge project and way to risky to fully commit into with our current status. It's far from struck off the list though - when funding allows it & it does not present a such huge "devotion risk" anymore, we would definitely consider pursuing it.

Cash poker version, as has been said several times before - with the current play estimations, and inability to properly fund proper licensed stand-alone cash version (as Poker Games tend to attract attention quickly, so it would be very risky to pursue it without proper licensing), also does not appear to be a cost-effective use of development budget just yet.

About the advertising we actually made a first review today with Marc, and had some positive results on PPMG and PBG (finally seems to be picking up!). But there are still a few bigger campaigns running before the budget is fully used up, and we want to prepare a more detailed report, before being able to come up with some very accurate numbers/effectiveness. But so far - for PBG & PPMG it seems to be working. BMF we will likely hold off, until we re-fund the accounts properly very soon.

Comments about not spending money on the coinflip evolved game, gambling, and poorly-informed comments like that, I will reply to in a follow-up post dedicated to explaining the reasoning behind the project a bit more.
Actually just in short - it's not a renovation of coin flip, it serves a completely different purpose, it users completely different monetization streams, and it is definitely not aimed at being a "competitor" to any of the existing games. It purpose is completely different. It is NOT meant as a product that will "save MTV", but as a very viable additional stream of consistent revenue, that would repay the development cost faster than pretty much any of the other projects that have been built recently.

PvP coinflip
We discussed that idea the previous week and came to a few stopping points, so to say. But there are definitely a few ideas we have for introducing multiplayer to the Coin Flip Evolved game later on.

Coin flip is so boring, so obsolete, what makes MTV coin flip that good?
Simplicity. Foolish perspectives of betting system being a viable option to earn & beat the house edge.

Do you remember when every daily news got 30 or more pages? (some were spam but not all 30) We have now usually 3-5 pages max, except if smth big happens(whether is good or bad).
A lot of this definitely had to do with PaidVerts users being put into the mix of this forum, taking its "focus" away. Also all the negative events and the negativism drives people away. This place used to be very active because so many people used to contribute in a very positive way with ideas, suggestions, insight... That positive environment of like-minded individuals is what got me to get really involved with MTV in the beginning in the first place. Now with PV having its own forum - let's work towards that again - You guys have all the tools to give it a push that way!

Why dont we build games like travian, hattrick style.. People always play games like this. We can earh with advertising, selling in game items etc..
Well the second part I believe has been answered a few times now, so I'll leave it smile BUT, since I have seen games like Travian suggested so many times before, here is a simplified answer:
To work on a a game like that seriously, it requires a lot of programmers & designers, and is just a much bigger game to build than most of you think it is. Not something we can or should tackle with our current development funds or team just yet.

Killa, we are here every single day.
Saturdays, sundays, holidays.
Our time is worth the same, every single day.

We simply deserve to be treated with respect, we've come up with great projects of a very high level so far, but it has lacked the legal background and marketing to become huge.

The marketing you could help us with, the legalization we're working on.

"it has lacked the legal background to become huge"

Marc when you have the time, can you please open a topic about what (and how) will change if we get that legal background?

There you can tell us about the pros and cons (there must also be cons) in your opinion.

We can all make a nice conversation and hear some things we may be missing.

Personally i think this Coinflip idea is great and i think it deserves a fair chance. It has some sort of attractivenes in it (that's how i feel about it) which i like. I think it will boost traffic to the site and stirr up some things (in Dutch: reuring in de tent grin ). Too bad there are so many negative comments on it, whereas we all know that Marc, Slo and the rest of the team are taking MTV/PV very seriously and do everything to make this  a success.

Marc, I really ask you to read this note, I really know it will helps you in this hard time as it's now.

Okay, After being reading (and posting) comments for these months, reading the news everyday and checking MTV maybe 15 times a day for the last year I would like to give you my opinion about the situation. Specially after reading Marc's comment (the one in the 3rd page, the big one).

For me, these days have been quite weird. I think it's because a compilation of lots of things put together.
Let's start with the no-dividends and the BMF's hack. That was bad for the "expectations of the crowd". I'm not going to give my opinion in that, just write the things as I thought that happened), so it was a "kick" for the positivity. In addition at the same time we got some programs that came on this month, specially Zarfund and many users (most of the active ones) started joining (myself did too) and I think we started to look for other "MTV's" out there, at least in my case. I've been tempted many times, specially yesterday when me and others dropped the price from 0.003$, to cashout and invest the money I have in MTV in other companies that looks more promising. I can feel lucky that didn't lose anything on swaps and got about +80% on my stake just by trading, so I could be one of the more positive members (MTV doesn't "owe" me anything, if you know what I mean).
Also, since long time ago, we've been focussing on rising the RP's price, always looking for "how many RP's to 0.01$" and they are from 60,000$ to 75,000$ most of the times, but we didn't focus on the bid section, and that's what happened. When we had 0.004$/RP, maybe there were only 7,000$ to 0.002$, so with only 7,000$ you could drop a 50% of the "value of the company". And what happens? Many of the active members have RP's valuated in over 1,000$ or more, so when Dotuan and Government wanted to sell some shares (no more than 1,000,000RP's all together), there wasn't enough resistance to keep the price, so it dropped to where it's now currently.
It ended up in a panicking wave of thinking, since some people can be tired of the "promises" like Poker, some games that didn't give revenues at all...
It also added up the recently "new business" from Marc, the bad results on the slots, the "no-more-FTQ" and the no-payement of FTQ this month also

I want to say that until 2 hours ago, I was quite angry at MTV, lost trust on Marc and was kinda upset, but I can see it quite clearly now and I think we are just in a temporal existencial crisis, it was just too many things in so many days so the negativity just kept spreading. The only motivational people here were the ones with the green bandage (mods) and I (and many others I guess) felt like it was just a war between all of us against the super supporters, "AKA mods, Marc and Slosumo".

Now after that, I want to write this directly to Marc. I'm writting it not treating you like a CEO but like a human:

Marc, it really touched me what you wrote and I think I can totally understand you. All we know about you is what you post here, all the things you say. It's normal that you want to make the crowd ecstatic, that you want to cheer us up, and yeah, when I saw on Facebook that you started promoting another company, it felt so bad to me (and most of us I think), but any of us thought about what you said, we don't know your economical situation, we didn't know how much time you spend on MTV and the other company (I thought you spent couple-three hours a day on MTV not all the damn day), we don't actually know anything about you and I think that it's very easy to just blame the "big fish" when things go wrong. It happened with Jo. When I entered here (mid 2014) everybody loved Jo, all the people were super grateful to Jo (include myself). Then he scammed us and overnight all the supporters became haters. Then you came and remember that boost on RP's, it went up about 300% in just 2-3 days when you became the new CEO. Things have been "normal-good" all these months and everybody loved you and loved MTV. Now many "bad" things come together, so hard to handle up in just few days and everybody "hates" you. I'm writting this note to encourage you, to just put your feelings away, don't let the negative go inside you. Humanity acts the following way; the boat is sinking and instead of leaving it and safe themselves, they will keep blaming the captain of the boat till it's too late for them to get saved.

What I want to tell you is: I think you are 24 (or 25) and many of us are in the same age (I'm 21) and I think we often forget about it. We just thing that you are the boss, you know everything, you are a semi-God and hell no! I bet you are sacrifying your youth for us, you are not partying on weekends, getting drunk/high, it's very possible that you don't even have a girlfriend, or if you have one, you aren't spending time with her at all, nor many friends... since you don't actually have time for that, you just work damn hard for all of us and we just point you with out fingers and say "hey Marc, you don't care about MTV" and blahblahblah.

How many of us would stop working, studying, leaving our friends, family and girl/boyfriend behind just to pursuit a dream and manage your own company? I bet almost any of us, it's a fuckingg hard decision. You are in the spot where you can get damn rich, famous and super loved (if MTV success) or get damn broke, w/o people around you... And any of us realise that.

In the future you could tell "hey, I worked 100hours/week, didn't get payed in 1 year, people didn't trust me and you know what? I didn't give up."
And once again, people will look at you and thing "wow, such a succesful guy, he's been lucky", like we all think about Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, Donald Trump... but we don't really see the 1000's of hours dedicated just to succed, they just see the results. Everybody loves Cristiano Ronaldo and envyis him, but nobody know that when the training was over, he kept training alone hours and hours every day of his whole life, that he put all his life on football, it didn't come from the "Grace of God".

So after all, Marc, just keep doing your job, fight for your dreams and change the world w/o letting it to change you.

Sincerely,

Víctor.

@rajaconsult Have to say that is in my opinion one of the best posts made today, yet it got the least likes compared to most other. It is not simply shooting down the idea without thinking about it, instead you are asking some very important questions and have constructive doubts. Really props for taking a different perspective on the matter and what I employ other members to do instead of blindly following the posts that other members think.
* But in a way it also shows why we often do not post every detail - most people unfortunately simply are not bothered about such (only) important questions.

What is your calculation? What about costs for the project until it is completed? What are the calculated revenues and where they come from? Please specify it in more detail.
How many programming hours are needed? How long does it take to breakeven is reached? How many external users you reckon? How will you promote the program? What will it cost this advertising?

Our initial unofficial estimate is that the game would take 1-2 months of a programmer's time, and some design time. But we have a few more UI and UX specs to finalize first, before we would be able to give a final, more accurate estimation. It also depends on how narrow/wide the finalized specs will be, and how much of emphasis we want to put on graphics in the end. Then there are also a few other factors involved revolving around monetization implementation, as those things can take time when doing it the first time - shuffling back and forth between us, publishing networks and testing/optimization. These aren't necessarily "full working days" of costs added though, but mainly just extra waiting time.

Considering that this game would have high incentives for PaidVerts users, to just play it on a daily basis, for FREE (users would be attracted and reminded to play the game via several points during their daily PV experience/routine), we believe to have at least 5k PV users playing it daily - as the game would just become a part of their "daily routine".

Since the game would be standalone (sub part of paidverts URL at starters, but publicly accessible/no login needed) we also expect there to be considerable amount of outside users who would play the game, as PV users would be incentivized to just promote the game outside of PV (Friends, family...) to increase their chances of scoring higher in it. We believe that would become a relatively high percentage of the playerbase, especially once mobile and potentially fully customizable robots & PvP would be built, so the playthroughs, rewarded videos, offerwall competition would be much higher than just with PV users playing. But let us completely take that out of the calculation for a low-end estimate calculation.

We estimate that players would on average visit the game twice a day. And considering the incentive system and similar game types behavior, on average we estimate a player would view 3 rewarded videos per day. Since the game would also not require a log in we should be able to make us of quality CPM networks, such as Google AdSense, to populate the space additionally via 2-3 banners.

So with advertising alone, a low end estimation is:

20-30k quality banner impressions = 20-30$/day

15k rewarded video ad views = $30-$35/day

Advertising = $50-$65/day

Then there are also the in-game purchases that help players increase their chances of climbing the ranks and specifically in PV users who would be incentivized via winning the BAP rewards, the risk/reward ratio should definitely make it worth trying to purchase at least the small coin packages quite often. But it is something hard to predict, so let's make a really low-end assumption on the in-game purchases (I will not factor in other potential in-game purchases, such as robot parts/customization just yet, as they likely would not be part of the first build), based on industry sale averages and considering that one of the lowest purchases would be bought on average ($0.1):

2% DAU (Daily Active Users) making a purchase of $0.1 each = $10/day
Total estimated daily revenue = $60-$75

On top of that we then also have to consider the potential of offerwalls which are popular in freemium games. And take into account, that unlike with offerwalls that are completed for cash incentives, where we pay out 80-85% of offer value to user in cash, offerwalls completed for in-game rewards result in us marking 100% of the offer value as revenue (and not just 15-20%).

So essentially just even a few offerwalls being completed per day on the freemium app, can result in a lot of additional pure revenue.

So with just those thing in mind we are looking at $1.800 - $2.250/month in revenues from this game as an estimation.

But there is really just a lot of other misc things to consider that are hard to predict, that have the potential to shoot the game's revenue up a lot:

- The game is free, and it should be really easy to implant it as a daily routine to PaidVerts' members, as it's costing them nothing.
- As it gives members a potential for benefits, and some "time wasting", as well as being able to help out the health of the company by just using a few minutes of their time, the daily active players simply from our website alone could even surpass the 5k estimate easily.
- Because the game would be freely available to anyone, including search engine bots, the game will be free to access and promote and we should be getting in more new players from that. Additionally, that would create extra banner impressions and more rewarded video views, increasing the pure advertising revenue.
- All the potential pure-game users that would come to play the game, would be highly incentivized to register on Paidverts to get additional in-game bonuses. At first they might register just for the sake of bonuses, but at the same time be introduced to Paidverts, becoming a potential member/advertiser, adding additional, hard to predict extra value to the product.
- PaidVerts users would also be incentivized to play the game, and to also buy PV upgrades that would give them in-game benefits to increase their chances (another perk to PV membership upgrades)

So in short, we estimate that with just counting on our existing members alone, we could monetize their value within the game for at least about $2.000 monthly, which would cover the costs of development within a few months max. But there's so many other potential the game has for increasing the profits, that we really believe that is a low end estimation. And don't start frowning upon "just $2k?" - it is a low end estimation, and one we should be able to start off pretty much right off the bat. And relative to the product cost that should be a really quickly re-payed project. That also has tons of extra potential in making much more than that - especially when we'd make the app as well. And we want to spread out to some smaller cost projects hat make "sure revenue", as they will add up, and are a great option to built up our base revenues, before legality and funds allow us to tackle with much bigger projects.

And it is really rare that while brainstorming various ideas, we all supported and saw the potential this game has - as it can utilize the current traffic/membership of PaidVerts, WITHOUT sucking members out of their cash from elsewhere, but instead converting these users to value ,we otherwise can not extract from the regular BAP/cash games, because they follow a completely different logic and monetization process. And this would be the first game that would allow us to tap into so far untapped (because of various reasons) monetization options within the existing memberbase, while opening itself up to completely new memberbase, for basically no extra advertising costs (something which other subsidiary sites would need much more of).

To be fair, marketing is very expensive and it is hard to get a ROI here from it.

But if people can't market to the outside they can still buy adpacks here. That is probably the next best thing you can do for the site, create a place where people want to join and be active in order to earn more from our ad issues

Many people work on different tasks sites and earn money. We do not have this option here in Paidverts.

Can we make some association with crowdflower so people can work on tasks and can through paidverts, obviously Paidverts can keep some commission and user have chance to either cashout or buy rps /// add packs.

I know it wont be easy but is it workable ?

Marc and SS,

One other feature you might want to add. I'm sure you have heard of candy crush. It is one of the most successful apps of all times. One of the secrets to it's success that I read about was this. I quote:

Create an Incentive for Social Media Sharing

Candy Crush is the king of social media sharing. If you want to play the game, you need to connect with your Facebook account. If you want to advance past a particular checkpoint, you need to get three Facebook friends who have downloaded the game to help you move on. If you run out of lives, you can ask Facebook friends for more.

Candy Crush optimizes social media sharing, at least with Facebook. Connecting the game through Facebook lets you see where your friends are in the game and ask for/send lives and bonus items. It is essentially an interactive experience because you share the gameplay with other users. This gets a discussion going about the game, spreading the game’s reputation through word of mouth.

Source

I think you can use that to push the new game and I'm also thinking that you can use that in paidverts. Maybe offer some sort of one time BAP bonus for people who post to FB, twitter or other social media sites.

You do need to be careful that people don't abuse it but it can be very beneficial if you get it right

@Slusumo With numbers it becomes easier to vote "YES" to this game (not that we have to vote). The problem is, like you said, people think it as "the only thing that will be worked on for months and take all of our programmers' attention". I think that happens because we usually can see just about 1 or 2 "IMPACT" things launched every month, while the bug fixings, etc are not really remembered. Hope you can change this idea grin.

Hey guys! I wanna share with you an idea that I use to promote Paidverts in my country

Last thursday, a band came to Guatemala (LT's Rhapsody). Incredible concert. I recorded this concert in front row and uploaded it to YouTube. Since I know many people will see it, I post my ref-links in the video description and I also post some tags for my own PV tutorials.

You can watch the concert here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BNu9sAjpDa4
(FYI, I'm not a youtuber as it is not allowed in my country. I don't earn anything if you watch the video. But feel free to delete the link if it's innaproppiated wink

It's been years since I record concerts as I think it is great to save such a good memory. I mixed something I'm passionated with (music) and something I love (MTV/PV)

METALLICA is coming on November 3th!!! It will give me a lot of views gringrin and hopefully I will get some referrals too!
