You don't only have to cut BAP from the system, you also have to make sales to bring money in. BAP market is (probably) doing it's job just fine, in the long run gradually reducing BAP and sparing some money.

But, in the short-term results, I'd wager it's actually badly efficient, more likely. Whereas it does reduce the before mentioned, on the other hand the 1$ spent on a BAP adpack is still a 1$ that goes fully to the site (breakdown doesn't matter as much). So we have a situation of reducing a bit of BAP and getting a bit of $ comm, vs. a 1$ plain and simple. That 1$ does add BAP, but that's a long term thing (that has to be addressed naturally, but on another day).

So in light of the current situation of ad issues being at some (poor-lish) 400$, it would be a really (really) good idea to try to make more sales. Else there will just be lower ad issues, disgruntled users, less users, etc...

It can still be reopened on special occasions, like a sort of a promo to liven up things a little and breeze through the userbase. Souldn't be done too often though (*khm* steam sales *khm*) else people will just wait around for it to reopen, and that will again lessen or nulify any potential pure sales that would be.

Beyond the buffer for my Group, no need to have more BAP, so might as well sell the rest off, or try and buy cheap and get to the next level.

It's not a new $1 coming in, it's already been paid for.

Now, users can't join and then leave in a few months if it's not to their liking as there is no way to get rid of their BAP, even gambling you would either lose it all or have even more BAP.

I'd rather, for each $X/%X you can buy X BAP on the market.

Or, at the very least, let the Admin have an account that they let users sell their BAP at this rate: $0.0002. Noone else can buy BAP, but at least you can still leave/sell off excess BAP.

If they can find a way to increase Daily Ad Issue without removing the BAP market, that would be awesome.

I suggest having other sources of external income. We have a surplus of banner impressions and PTC traffic. We can use those.

@jordy Based on how the current ones have been performing, it is very unlikely click walls will be on our top priority list for a while, as they don't even cover the cost of implementation. Nor are they highly popular amongst our users, so very few actually consider them worth doing/helping their account growth.

When we get to it, we will first refresh/improve offerwalls slots, as those have a better turnover and many more members use them/earn from them.

For me, the first few weeks were good, though the pay rate sucks, now I'm lucky to even get 1 ad to view. Also, some weird thing where I have to make sure to wait past the new day locally, and even then I still get sorry you already viewed this. Why give it to me if I can't view for credit?

I imagine most just gave up, so little reward, so much time (has to be focused).

Your reasoning for closing the BAP market doesn't make sense. If it was doing a job to keep the BAP pool from growing, then it is going in the right direction. Short term, it may not be good but you will achieve balance at some point. As long as it is taking out more BAP than it is putting in, it is doing a long term benefit for the site.

If you pull it out now, then, in theory, the BAP pool will start to grow again.

I think what you should do is limit the power of the whales to game the market. Unfortunately, people just throw huge amounts of shares into the market which mucks up the whole system. Limit the amount you can sell per day and I think you will clear out even more BAP

One thing that will hurt confidence is all these rash moves. I know that some are necessary but it doesn't give a feeling of stability to people who might want to risk their money. They say money is skittish so jumping around a lot is going to scare it off

Exactly my thoughs. My vote also goes to limiting the max sell amount per day. The market used to do a whole cycle in two weeks before the whale storm. Now it has been standing still for months.

If the site is losing out dev funds because of low ad sales (assumingly due to the BAP market), then impose a higher market fee to recover lost dev funds.

I saw that 1% is not rewarded anymore in ptcshare????????????, is that right? I made same efforts to get to 1% and i don't think is fair if this is happening.

Another question about the BAP market removal in PTCShare that comes to mind is:

Why do we still have it in PaidVerts if it is really affecting ad sales in PTCShare?

Shouldn't we also remove it in PaidVerts in order to boost ad sales in PV?

bambarec, that is a mistake on the page. Richiem is right. 1% got $0.1415, 5% got $0.021 and 10% got $0.0085.
I don't know why they don't fix that.
