Jo, in another thread you said you have to issue ads from lowest groups to highest, to avoid people who would enter a lower group by losing enough BAP from receiving the ads twice. This can mean that the higher BAP groups can't receive any ads if it takes too long for the lower group to get their ads delivered to them.How about you change the order to go from biggest BAP group to the lowest, but prevent a double issue by introducing an internal flag to a user account in the database, which signifies if this account already received the main ad issue for this day and then just exclude it from the lower BAP group ad issue for this day? Reset the flag at the beginning at the day and you are safe. So if I'm in a BAP group and get my ads but lose enough BAP to enter the lower group, I won't receive ads again that day, because the system knows that I already got my ads for today and just skips me when calculating the ads for the lower BAP group. Since the higher groups receive less ads (I'd assume), the queue won't get that much longer by serving higher groups first and you can serve every BAP group with just a little extra time used. |
