They do it for safety reasons... so I'm not sure if a wallet without verification is as safe. Btw, coinbase doesn't require verification if you don't trade on their exchange I believe.

You can also download the litecoin client from litecoin website, or create one at the mobile app coinomi

I believe you are wrong.

I was required ID and I never made an exchange.

Maybe that's a US thing though.

BTW, IF BTC is supposed to be anonymous and still hacker non friendly, they shouldn't NEED ID to be trusted. That said the more secure the better.

You need it when you buy crypto with fiat. Governments only allow the exchanges if they comply to the rules. If you just receive and send LTC you won't have a problem. If you want to buy with fiat, verification is necessary to avoid money laundering.

Verification is not necessary for citizens of certain countries. I am not verified at coinbase, but I cannot buy or sell, as they say that feature is not available for my country and they are working hard to bring that feature to as many countries as possible.

Have you checked the third option provided by felibaudino? There may not be many reliable LC wallets out there to choose from.

You can also create a wallet at any exchanger like Bittrex, Coinexchange, Cryptopia, HitBtc, Poloniex( I don´t recommend it).
You also have mobile apps, the one I know is Coinomi.
