I think we'll give out the first sneak peek to a few mods later this week smile

We are getting real close to fully finishing the actual programming/mechanic part. The biggest delays so far has been sickness, as our main programmer was not able to put in as many hours as we planned for, but I have to say that the progress in the reduced time has been better than anticipated. And there is a lot of work me and Rok have to put into the game on other parts to make sure it's properly prepared. From getting the final tutorial/UX/progression systems tailored, to updating the store with new upgrades, working with advertisers, to thorough testing and making sure the code is robust in every single way. As well as working on how/where the hosting will be handled, as it's all slightly different from general MTV subsidiaries.

A lot of these things we were hoping to have sorted by end of December, but especially in my case I've been swamped with tending mostly to other projects/management and way too many sick days I'd liked to smirk

Will be getting a very clear list of urgent TO DO things finally done this week, so we can lay out a much more accurate final ETA. One where we make sure we launch with as near-perfect product as possible, but also not dive into some things we could launch without.

Well depending, it has already 20.000 users.

Last week I was talking with a friend and he told me that he realised he has spent 1470€ (1600$) in 9 months in a freemium game. He obviously regreted when he calculated that amount after many months, but when he was doing it he didn't realise it.
And what's worse, he told me that he didn't get anything special from it, his girlfriend got a free account and had the same type of cards/monsters (don't remember what game he told me) so he didn't even take a "benefit" from it...

And no, he isn't rich, he was working for these 9 months and earning about 1200€ a month, so he actually spent 15% of his income in that game! And he's not even a lodupithe or something, he's just a regular user. And no, this game was way worse than Crash Royale, it was damn boring!

Me for example, I've spent 60$ in League of Leguends (freemium) just to get new skins, but I know maaaaany friends that have spent 200-500$ on it. And in League of Legends, all you spend is just for visual updates, it never makes you better or gives you an advantage against free users, it's just for the "exclusivity".

Freemium games have been proved to be profitable. some more than others of course. But they do generate a lot of revenue.

Not only from upgrades people buy, but also from advertising. 

This "secret game" has proven to be addictive and many of its features will make people return everytime so I believe it will generate some interesting results.

Those might not be reflected immediately on RP price but overtime, they should make a difference. remember that it only takes a very successful product to increase our daily results at a point that we can repay FTQ and even dividends. So who would like to own as much RP`s as possible when we get to the point of getting dividends again?

Will it happen in 1 month, 6 months, 1 year... no one knows but one thing is for sure - it will happen!

Just a very quick update that we've just barely managed to stay on schedule today.

After a few hiccups today we finally managed to get the game working for testing, and have for today allowed a sneak peak to a small part of the staff.

Tomorrow afternoon, we will open it up for the rest of the staff, to get the most obvious bugs/issues/fixes noted that we will fix/improve during the weekend and on Monday.

So far looking good, but we want to squeeze the best version out for a potentially bit broader first feedback test on Monday/Tuesday, before fully officially launching.

We're almost there LOL

A lot of testing and debugging... but the game is great! Trully addictive.

Whoever played it on the test version will have a good surprise as it was only a small % of what the final game looks like!

Get ready for it grin

I truly believe this can be a great revenue booster for MTV.

We are currently working through a large list of bugfixes and improvements and feedback from the first round of testing by the mods.

Major things sorted today:
- auto game state update when switching zones
- new header & logo added
- loading screens between switching zones
- cycle milestone now properly reduces cycling time
- icons added to partial views in Training Camp
- other minor improvements and fixes

Where do I begin, so much has been worked on the past week! Before getting into details of fixes, changes, improvements, I want to first lay out what everyone is interested in the most - after a few unexpected delays (out of our control unfortunately), we are now at a point where most of the issues and improvements to the game have been done and we feel comfortable setting a fixed launch date.

We are launching the Secret Freemium game project on Monday!
* It is officially announced and timed down on the current live version of the game as well

There is not a set hour for that, as due to the current version of the game being live, we will have to force downtime in order to move the code/ point domain to the new servers. Some things will need to be setup after that move is made, and can not be fully finalized before - setting up SSL, making sure emails are working properly, resetting all existing plays and rewarding existing users, waiting for propagation.

We will begin making the move as early as possible on Monday, but it will definitely take several hours up to a full day for everything to go through properly.

Can't wait to get this out, as we believe it is a really cool game in its genre and we have so much more planned for it!

A trimmed down list of things that were fixed/worked on in the past week/two:

- various bug and display fixes
- adjusting tutorials for both idle and active part
- adjusting game progression statistics for both parts, both based on live testing and longer term predictions
- several game mechanics were bugged with reworked code on active part
- gameplay and performance optimizations
- additional statistics added
- added some extra animations, improved and added various graphics to make the game feel much more lively
- proper unit cycling and milestones sorted on idle part
- improved rewarded video preparation and distinguishing between reward types and fallback monetization implementation (offerwall suggestions)
- optimizing state updating and reducing server calls to a minimum, ensuring uninterrupted gameplay in case of temporary internet connection loss
- preparation of game sounds
- added new shop items


There's so many little things that were fixed and improved that it's pointless to get into it, but long story short - the most pressing updates and fixes to the game were done which allows us a clean launch with minimum imperfections left. And we've got a busy weekend ahead to prepare for the launch additionally - reduce downtime time, fix and improve any leftover lower-priority issues/bugs.
