PaidVerts will go offline for maintenance, for about 1hour, at some point today. We need to optimize the database a bit to keep things speedy! And thereafter we'll install Compound Boxes as the latest BAP game.

I've also asked the programmers to prioritize this upgrade to our paid ads page: http://mytrafficvalue.com/drafts/pv/member-paidads3.png - to display Activation Ads alongside regular paid ads. As I think that will simplify things, and help get new users up to speed.

And hopefully we'll be launching the "Request Micro Ads" button either today or tomorrow.

Beyond that, my only task today is to catch up on the 100+ support tickets that have accumulated the last few days.

And i'm thinking once we catch up with various bugs, upgrades and game installs. We should revisit my "Star Ads" idea.

As I think PV needs something to attract larger users, looking for a fast buck. It'll still all be sustainable; but I like that idea of $10 special ad packs; creating instant returns via high value clicks specifically to other star purchasers... Thereby the ponzi element is the attractive time-saver bit; and the re-investment behind the scenes is the sustainable part.

Maybe next week one of the pogrammers can begin construction. Let's see how things go!

Pretty much...

Though i'm playing with numbers at the moment, and I think the total ROI would be more like 135%. But the theory being; this plan should be a lot faster than conventional ad packs. Due to ~75% of the value being issued in instant ads.

So if 2 people buy packs; there'd be enough instant ads in circulation to potentially repay one of those users in full.

* My solution for the "Star Ads" is to create a "Star Points" thing the same like BAP. So when you buy ads, you get BAP + Start Points; and when you receive a star ad; both balances are deducted... And you require available balance in both to receive star ads.

Latest idea / version (still work in progress):

$10 packs...
0.50 = 10 * $0.05 ads
5.00 = 20 * $0.25 ads
2.00 = 2 * $1 ads

$0.10 = PV Commission
$2.40 = x2.5 = 6.00

Delivers 32 Visits From Star Users (PV: $10+)
Refunded @ $0.3125/visit if not delivered within 180days.
+27,000 BAP ($13.50 ads; $0.0005 = 1 point)
+270 Star Points ($13.50 ads; $0.05 = 1 point)

You remain an 'star upgraded user' until you have received $13.50 in star ads. (zero star points)
* You can't receive more than $13.50.

-- So receiving a star ads deducts both BAP & "Star Points"
Neither can go below zero.
eg. If you only have 1 star point left; you can only receive $0.05 ads. Not $0.25 or $1. As you have insufficient star points.

-- Star ads only recycle to other star users.
Thereby, upon recycle, return to the "Star Cron" queue that only issues to active star users with BAP/SP

Star Cron should issue a max of either: 1 available ad per minute, or 10 ads per minute if more than 10,000 in the queue.

Ads have an 18hour recycle timer.

Users can buy 1-100 packs per day ($10-$1,000)

* Requires admin function to create 'star ads' as investments mature.
* And star related stats.

Only downside of the above;

- No direct referral commission.
Though referrals would earn $0.675/pack in 5% click commissions. Leaving investors with a net return of 128.35%

- Tiny direct portfolio earnings (1%).
Though MTV benefits from the $2.40 (24%) that is invested here via the FT250 or Shares. Plus of course cashier fees & recycles.

Yes of course.

One gives you BAP + Star Points... for which you'll receive Star Ads.

And the other just gives you BAP... for which you'll receive regular paid ads.

* And what may happen is if someone ONLY purchases Star Ads; some of their BAP will be consumed by regular paid ads; meaning they'll have enough star points, but not enough BAP perhaps to receive all their star ads... Which will mean they'll have to top up their BAP via Activation Ads / Regular Purchases.

Yea the current statistics section i don't like at all. Definitely needs work. But it's buried under more pressing & profitable issues for the moment.

I've not done today's ad issue yet. It'll be a late one.
*And i was waiting to see if the programmers do the planned maintenance first. So you don't miss any time with your 18hr countdowns.

Jo, a few questions about your Star Ads idea.

1) What if there aren't enough Star Ad sales. Will Star users receive regular ads instead? or are they just refunded within 180days?

2) What will happen to regular users if there are a lot of star ad purchases? Will they still be able to click some good regular ads too? I can assume the new ad pack will attract bigger players. But if no one buys regular ads anymore, that part of PV will slow down? I have a lot of BAP!

3) Star users have to maintain a BAP balance too. At what ratio should they be buying regular ads vs star ads to keep our accounts balanced?

Star ads are no different to regular ads. A part of the purchase is re-invested, and as it matures; it creates more star ads. The total will be sufficient to repay all; and any star recycles - bonus!

Bulk Ads are completely unaffected. Beyond perhaps less 1% random ads (the ones issued at the beginning of each server day -- not the daily ad issue), if less people are buying regular, and more buy star ads.

And regarding BAP consumption; there's no ratio. Just you might get some regular ads issued to you. And in order to complete your star purchase; you'll need to top up that many BAP to ensure you have enough to receive all your star ads in addition to the unplanned regular ads... All the same real money at the end of the day.
In fact it's a bit of a bonus; as you're getting some regular ads "paying you" even before you've purchased them.

* But that scenario only applies to people that ONLY buy star ads, and never click a single activation ad. Which is pretty much impossible - as you require an active account regardless.

What limit do you think we should set for Star Ads?
Is $10 ok? Or should it be a bit more exclusive? And encourage a bit bigger spending?

* If we increase the value of each pack; there might be room to benefit the regular 'bulk ads' system; creating some nominal ads there with each purchase... ie. $100/pack; with $5 set aside to automatically generate 500x $0.01 ads for regular users.

* And/or to help address the referral issue; perhaps in order to access the Star Ads system, you have to buy a lifetime account upgrade... That could easily be 50% ref commission, 50% portfolio revenue.

Still some refinement to do on this idea though. Will keep mulling it over; no programming time in sight right now anyway.

There is a display problem in Paid Ads
Box with following text appear over the ads
"Paid ads require and consume Bonus Ad Points (BAP)"

number of ads is different - In menu PaidAds (13), in page (8)

and under my campaign page number 2 don't work anymore was working before

I also think you could add in the box that each Bonus Ad Point worth $0.0005. Members would instantly know how much money they can earn.

I think you should increase the value of each pack. It should benefit the regular bulk ads too. Although $100 a pack is too much. But that was just an example I guess
