(And if you mouseover that, it'll show you the ETA) Two upcoming (low priority) features at PaidVerts: 1) Daily BAP tax; All users (active + not) will have a tiny amount of BAP deducted each day from their BAP balance. All users: 5 BAP/day 10,000+: 25 BAP/day This aims to help counter / balance out a bit the 500BAP we give away for free to users viewing activation ads... And it'll also help mop up dormant accounts. Individually this costs users pretty much nothing, you've just got to view one activation ad every 20days; to negate it completely. Or one every 4days for big users. But over tens of thousands of users, this adds up to a worthwhile amount for the business. And will help make PaidVerts sustainable at scale. So it's in everyones best interests, even though you may not like it. 2) Inactivity Tax; If you PaidVerts account status goes to "inactive" (plus you don't have vacation mode enabled). Then your PV Earnings Balance will be reduced by up to $0.01 per server day until it's empty. * To avoid this; keep your account active! Or transfer funds out of your PV earnings balance to any other balance. As they will not be affected by this. * This is not a general tax, or effort to steal your money, it's specifically to mop up dormant accounts. who likely viewed a few micro ads, then gave up. * We will combine this feature with another practice we will write into the terms and conditions of purging all dormant + valueless accounts once per year or so. As that's a nice way to clean up the database. * 100% of these revenues will go to the PV portfolio revenues. And finally, I was thinking of an idea for PaidVerts regarding paid upgrades... We were talking about upgrade ideas, specifically aiming to incentivize referrals. How about a simple upgrade like this: In order to receive ads with individual values in excess of ~$0.10 each; you must purchase a one time upgrade for your account... ie. $5/$10/$20. With 50% being referral commission. And 50% revenue for the portfolio. As if you have the incentive for thousands of people to pay $20 each; thats enourmous money! 3000 people * $10 profit; instant $30k for the portfolio. (And $30k ref commission!) I've told him, if he maanges to set it up; to perform the swap without delay. So I think today will be another small ad issue; just in case we do swap, and there maybe varying amounts of downtime for people dependind upon how long your ISP takes to resolve the new DNS settings. (Shouldn't be long; DNS is usually refreshed within an hour these days - highly unlikely it'll take the ~24hours or so, like it used to a few years ago) So it's going to be a quiet weekened for Paidverts. But, i'm still debating / refining the idea. As it adds complexity. And also existing users won't really like being forced to buy it. (Unless we give it to all existing users with a minimum BAP - free of charge) I'm not sure. Also, i'm thinking about tying it in with that Star Ads idea I had previously... With each upgrade; it automatically generates a bunch of high value ads for other upgraded users. But it's tricky to find the right balance / whats affordable.
