Why do advertisers use RIDICULOUS captchas on the third line of their ads?

Here's one from today: a8wss7f8d6f7s8d6f4d6f8g5d4f6d4 angry angry angry

C'mon people! This is a golden opportunity to force ad viewers to learn something important about your site, a huge perk, a selling point, some sizzle.

Instead, you force viewers to manually (and carefully) enter a tedious amount of meaningless dribble that does nothing but frustate the ad viewer.

I personally would never consider visiting a site that wasted my time like that.

Just a thought excaim

yes i think some rules should be applied, some advertise adf.ly and facebook and whatever that don't work inside iframes, i think that it don't look good and if anybody see that it won't show up why go ahead and advertise that site, let the user know what is accepted

Why can't the site itself provide the captcha entry option as like the other sites are doing when we are loggin in?

Because the idea is for advertisers to be smart and would put their MOST UNIQUE selling point in the 3rd line as it has to be typed out completely. But people are stupid and rather troll the viewers.

So some form of a filter would be great definitely for the 3rd line:
- exclude ALL special characters ( only allow " ' "wink
- Only allow words from English dictionary
- block swear words

... for example

When we get time, we'll give you the option to "swap" ads, if you don't want to view a given ad. You can switch it for another one.

And we've just blacklisted all ad.fly links. As a number of users seemed to be having problems viewing those.

As those captchas are annoying I know, but verifying every single ad purchased daily right now is a bit tricky. Unless we can create a way to crowd source the process.

I wonder if we can make an opportunity out of it; add $0.01 to the cost of each "new campaign" -- with either new text, or promoting a link that's never been approved before... And then create a section where users can basically approve / check new ads before they enter circulation and receive a little reward in the process

Something like that. Bit of work to setup; but once it's operational - should be completely automated / effortless.

Some with me...  a days ago was a 10 letter with "0" and O... was like 00O00OOO0OO000...

I report it... but nothing done...

There are ridiculous people...

I think Jo could limitate the number of letter for the 3rd captcha... just my 2 cents...

It is so done when advertiser doesn't understand that the time of the person reading his info message is very precious to waste it with his ''Ridiculous captcha letter''

i think the "problem" is that some users don't take it seriously they only buy adpack to earn more...
not so much we can do right now, if they saw the opportunity that advertise really could make PaidVerts big overnight helping other sites in the same time they could earn more

if the ad is not confirmed "ok" they should be informed of why and get the change to correct it

I like the ads that use the same line of information in all 3 fields.

Although that is really not the best use of the opportunity, its the easiest to copy and paste.

If the 3rd line is too stupid, i just recycle the ad. I just wish it would affect the success of the overall campaign, but with the recycle system, it doesnt.
