@MarcDeKoning

Apart from an investor, what role do you have in EQT? If you don't mind sharing that with us.

Dear Coinbase customer,

There have been a number of developments with Bitcoin Segwit2x since our last update. No action is required and all funds stored on Coinbase remain safe.

Last week, the Segwit2x development team announced they would no longer continue with the project. In addition, a significant portion of miners and other community leaders withdrew their support for the fork. However, despite these developments, a small number of miners may attempt to go forward with a fork.

We wanted to provide clarity about the potential outcomes of the fork and what Coinbase will do in each scenario.

To protect customer funds, Coinbase will disable Bitcoin sends and receives at 2 am Pacific Time on November 17th, and disable buys and sells an hour before the fork, which is currently predicted to occur between 6am to 8am Pacific Time on November 17th. All functionality will be re-enabled shortly afterwards.

Scenario 1: Network is unusable
If support for the fork remains at current levels or decreases, the Bitcoin2x network will be unusable. Coinbase will not support withdrawals or trading as it will not be possible to move these assets. Currently we believe this is the most likely scenario.

If the network gains support at a later date, we will enable Bitcoin2x withdrawals from the platform.

Scenario 2: Network is usable
If transactions are being confirmed at a reasonable speed and miner support is strong, we will allow Coinbase customers to withdraw Bitcoin2x. We will not immediately enable buys and sells as previously stated, but we may enable them at a later date.

We will keep customers updated through our blog.

Thank you,

Coinbase Team

Now that btc crossed the barrier of the 10.000$, I think it's time for a discussion. Is it a bubble? it grew over 1300% in 1 year...

I just think people are starting to get in the blockchain technology. If you look at who's calling it a bubble, it's mostly people from the banking and financing institutions, and if blockchain prevails, they'll loose their jobs. Even if it wasn't because of that, they couldn't even see the subprime bubble popping, are we supposed to trust them now?

I don't know that much about blockchain but I'm happy since I bought BTC, ETH and LTC

The question is what is a bubble and how you create it?
Is every "currency" that rises and falls a bubble?

I really don't know much about it, but I think the whole bubble word is misused very much lately.

TBH, I think we are just now entering the mania phase. I think 5 digits will finally grab the general public's attention. Plus there are also people who now understand BTC enough that they can explain it properly to people

MTV should have its own currency ASAP to make it big .....as new economy is emerging from Ashes.  .....cryptos will remain for ever now in any form or feature due to its technology and attractive investment for masses.

How is Bittrex? Is it better than the sloppy and snail-paced Kraken?

@Babycare, yes it is pretty decent smile Way faster than Poloniex last time I tried. Never used Kraken so can't really compare, but I didn't hear lots of complaints about Bittrex (which everyone heard about Polo I guess tongue )

Bittrex is having some speed issues lately, but it´s better than the other 2.

Polo stole cash from me and never replied to my tickets, Kraken is unreliable and couldn´t even fix their stop loss so they removed their stop loss option altogether.
Bittrex, Cryptopia and Bitstamp are the safest centralized exchanges as of now imo.

Bittrex is so safe in terms of account safety that it's kind of boring to log in tongue rolleye

Nice to see Cryptopia in your "rank" Marc, it's often referenced as a "small exchange" for new coins. They need to get more vol on the USD markets though.

I'd suggest you taking a look at POSW. This month the news about a swap will be released (date, new specs, everything) and in January it might already have the TPOS system working (you can let someone running a masternode STAKE FOR YOU without giving them control over your funds) and I think it will be good.

--And I forgot to mention the occasional pumps from 1-1.1k to 1.5-1.7k (happenned a few times this week), good to play with little money --. Do your own research before grin

Any coins do you think will be a good opportunity for the next weeks/months?

Today is a weird day on the crypto exchanges. Bitcoin first rising to $11k+, then dropping to $10k, rising again and then suddenly another drop below $9k, to rebound very fast to $10k...

I wonder who's behind those huge swings, and what the future direction of the market will be.

Are there any hacking incidents? I doubt it's SUCH a traffic overload... Coinbase not working, BitStamp not working... any others?
