why not launch a betting exchanger which allows the bettors to bet against each other and charge commission on each winning bet. This would definitely get things running.

I would use it and building a platform like that is not that hard to do. Odds can be calculated by looking at the odds on other gambling sites. You do not need all the games or all betting options. Just start with a simple site that shows the main games of the NBA/ NHL/ NFL and (European) Soccer. List 10/15 of them every week and give users the option of betting on W/D/L. The mainframe/coding from our MTV monitor can be used for this website as it has a similar structure. 10% Fee on every transaction. Then create an android app and open it up to the market. Login/account structure can be MTV account based or you can use one similar to PPMG and PBG. Speaking of apps: why are there no War Clicks and Coinflipevolved apps? Should be an easy port from a webgame(html) to an android game. Maybe they are the next projects to be funded, after completing the PSB (PlaySportsBetting) app and website.

RoTho it alot harder then you think to take a game from computer to app. Warclicks is working on being more mobile friendly not sure if that means there a app in it future or not. Got a friend that does apps for a living he says he could create 10 good apps in time it take him to take a website and make a app version unless he allowed to cut out features. Sport betting i am not sure all the legal requirement you would have to go to make this happen. I know a few site got busted by the USA and a couple state government so dont think it would be a very friendly idea for us. But all the rest of the users might find it a good fit to the company.

@bigbadmooseI have worked on some projects in app development and there are simple tools online that can convert your basic coding into a mobile friendly version of that code. Some HTML games can be converted to ''native coded'' (and working) mobile games without requiring a user to have an expert set of coding skills. Most HTML website can be converted to a mobile site/app without huge changes to the original coding before the converting proces. I love the anekdote but come on man.... In the US the laws sure make it hard to run a sportsbetting site, so yes it would be best to not make it available to American users. Fact still remains that it is a cheap thing to build because it uses elements that already exist in MTV's digital landscape.

To make it simpler, how about a game like the voting game? Instead of odds, we just bet against each others

How about this as a basic design. In this example(mock up) I have not changed the basic structure of the monitor, so it still has only two options. Instead of W/D/L it has; will this team beat the other team or not. This way the coding from the MTV monitor can be reused.

if we can make some sort of fantasy games...such as Fantasy English Premier league...that is huge potential...buying dream player and the score based on a performance of real match...real money involves...and weekly contest for a dream team...act like a manager...very enjoyable.

@SunTzuNo because I do not have the time to do so. But I am sure you can find people online that have time to do it. Do not forget that creating a site like bet365 (the mainframe) is pretty easy but support, databases and customer service aspects can take up most of your time. Sure you can use automatic scripts that compares odds with other sites but that is just one aspect of a huge operation. I am also not interested in the project, I was proposing, for myself but see it more as an expansion of the MTV portfolio. Sites like the one I am suggesting are low costing, low maintenance and so they have the ingredients to create a lot of income without requiring a high investment. @donsoulz Sure that can work and it sounds fun if you could play against other MTV players their teams. Not like a game but more like a textual simulation. They can go all out and create a platform where you can buy new player packs with BAP. Win BAP prices if you win a tournament... Only keep in mind that creating the structure and the stats/database for such a website is a lot more work. So the funding required to create this would be higher then for the platform I had in mind. Also copyrights might complicate things, PES has been struggling with that for years. |
