This what I wrote back. It is a bit different approach and no guarantee that it works but maybe it will give you ideas. Just keep trying things and go with what people respond to. I am good at banner slogans and text ads which I why I keep it simple: I don't usually contact referrals because it takes too much of my time to open a communication with them. I have over 15,000 of them and thousands in other sites and to open a dialogue with all of them (or even just the ones that would respond) would leave me no time to do anything else. That said, if I were to communicate, I would start small. You don't want to be thinking in terms of a letter, you want to be thinking in terms of a text ad. Your goal is to open a conversation, not give information. You know they are here to make money. I think that should be the focus and your subject line is the key Something like Welcome to the Paidverts money-making opportunity. I can help Then in the email say something like:  I am your referrer. Thank you for joining. Would you like me to show you tips on how we make money here without having to spend any money? That should be enough. You want to make it easy to read but you also want to make a bit of a challenge. You are looking for people who are willing to make an effort so this will be their first challenge on the path. If they are unwilling to respond to a free offer for help, they are probably not very interested If they respond, then you want to open a conversation. Find out about them and why they joined. If you can discover their motivations, you are better able to help them achieve their goals. Remember, this is about helping them earn money at PV. Actually, a whole series of autoresponder messages should go out. A formal training session to get people up to speed and active but it isn't easy. Copywriting is an art form and can be expensive but once it is written you have if for a long time. We actually should have a lead capture page that takes people's emails and works them into the system. This takes money and skill and unless someone with that talent is willing to do it free on the site, I don't think it will happen. We could also run contests to find people to do this. Send out emails from contest members to random newcomers and let the stats decide who creates the most active lucrative new members and then give out prizes. Everything comes down to statistics which is our strength in internet marketing. It gives us the ability to track results on everything and we would be wise to use that. Even the difference between a working banner and a non-working banner or splash pages can be many percentage points which, over hundreds of members can be a lot of money and will almost always pay for itself Even periodic emails from the company to members with tips and tricks is beneficial though. I find it quite helpful for spelling corrections and some grammar in the free version. When it first came out I tried it and it wasn't very good but they have really improved on it and is a great add-on. Also, we do send out periodic emails, not just promotions. I think that costs us a couple hundred each send, so they can't be too frequent esp if they don't lead to results that pay for themselves. I'm using grammerly free for a couple years now. It, and another program I have running since half a decade or so, still don't notice common errors of fast typing aka when you put 1 or 2 letters in the wrong order, they can't figure out what word I meant. Still, I use them both all the time, just so I don't spell words wrong.  I notice though that not until after I hit save does the corrections show. Which means, I have to go back and forth, in 15min, scrolling my post for errors.
